The Lang test is a simple and quick diagnostic test used to assess stereopsis, or the ability to see spatially. It uses a special card with three-dimensional images that can only be seen when both eyes are functioning properly and working together.
How the Lang Test works:
- The card contains dot patterns or lines that are designed to create a three-dimensional image when viewed through both eyes.
- The patient looks at the card and is asked to indicate or name the three-dimensional images seen.
- If the patient can see the images in 3D, it means that they have good stereopsis.
