    Modern technology plays a vital role, but equally important are accurate diagnosis, the experience of the doctor and appropriate aftercare. Laser vision correction has been performed worldwide for more than 30 years and is one of the most thoroughly studied ophthalmic procedures.

    The foundation: a thorough consultation

    This is the most important stage. During the extended examination, we assess the anatomy of the eye and rule out contraindications. With wavefront diagnostics (iDesign) and corneal imaging, we plan the procedure based on precise measurements rather than a general template.

    Intelligent support during the procedure

    The laser works with an eye-tracking system that monitors the eye's micro-movements in real time. If movement exceeds the safe range, the device automatically pauses and resumes when the eye returns to the correct position.

    Continuity of care and recovery

    After the procedure, we guide you through the healing process: follow-up appointments, clear aftercare instructions and the opportunity to contact us if you have any concerns. This is important because most worrying symptoms are predictable and temporary — and we help you distinguish them from warning signs.

    A procedure on the surface of the eye

    Many patients imagine laser vision correction as an intervention deep within the eye. In reality, the procedure involves the cornea - the outermost part of the eyeball.

    We do not operate on the lens or retina. The procedure involves precisely reshaping the corneal layers so that light can be refocused correctly on the retina.

    The risk of serious complications is therefore very low, and the procedure itself is not burdensome to the body.

    We rely on experience

    Technology plays a huge role in laser vision correction, but the ultimate safety of the procedure depends primarily on the doctor's judgement. The laser performs the planned procedure, but it is the specialist who decides whether and how the procedure should be performed.

    When should I contact the clinic urgently after the procedure?

    If there is increasing pain, marked deterioration of vision, severe redness, purulent discharge or photophobia inappropriate to the stage of healing - contact us immediately. In most cases, recovery is predictable, but safety requires a rapid response to unusual symptoms.

    What are the possible complications after laser vision correction?

    The most common complaints are temporary: dry eye, light sensitivity (photophobia), fluctuations in visual acuity and night glare. Inflammation or infection are less common. We reduce the risk through the consultation, post-operative recommendations and regular follow-up visits.

    Serious complications following laser vision correction are rare.
    Data from large clinical analyses and scientific reviews indicate that, in correctly assessed patients, they occur in well below 1% of cases.
