blepharoplasty
Do you notice any of the following?
- Drooping, excess skin of the upper eyelids – sometimes to the extent that it narrows the field of vision
- A feeling of heavy eyelids that gets worse at the end of the day
- „Tired”, older-looking eyes, even when you are well-rested
- Excess skin and lower eyelid „bags”
- Eyelid asymmetry or eyelid drooping (ptosis)
Eyelid surgery can restore lightness to your gaze – and if necessary, a full field of vision too.
What is blepharoplasty?
Blepharoplasty is surgical eyelid correction: the removal of excess skin, and where necessary fatty tissue, or the tightening of weakened structures. At BLIKPOL we perform it as a day-case procedure under local anaesthesia – with a natural effect and complete eye safety in mind.

Upper eyelid surgery
Removal of excess drooping upper eyelid skin. It improves both the appearance of the eyes and visual comfort when the excess skin restricts the field of vision.
Treating the underlying cause
Correction of „bags”, excess skin and contour irregularities of the lower eyelid. Refreshes the eye area without altering facial features.
Eyelid ptosis correction (ptosis surgery)
A procedure of a usually functional nature – it restores the correct position of the eyelid and improves the field of vision.
How does the process work?

Consultation and plan
Consultation, eye area examination and eyelid assessment. We discuss expectations, indications and realistic possibilities – including whether there is a functional indication in your case.

Assessment
Choice of method (botulinum toxin / HA / oculoplasty) and preparation for the procedure, including any required pre-operative tests.

Procedure
Day-case procedure under local anaesthetic. You go home the same day.

Follow-up care
We schedule a follow-up visit (usually after 1–2 weeks; for oculoplasty, this includes stitch removal), then at least every 6 months thereafter.
Safety and contraindications
We work to eye clinic standards. Procedures are performed by a doctor with experience in the anatomy and surgery of the eye area. Before every procedure, we discuss realistic results, potential side effects and the recovery time.
Contraindications include, but are not limited to, active infections, uncontrolled systemic conditions, pregnancy and breastfeeding, and coagulation disorders.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions about aesthetic medicine
Are visible scars left after eyelid surgery?
The incisions are made in the natural creases of the eyelids, making the scars discreet and increasingly less visible over time.
Are aesthetic eye procedures safe?
Yes, provided proper qualification and performance by a doctor familiar with orbital anatomy. At BLIKPOL, procedures are performed by an eye surgeon, to the standards of an ophthalmology clinic.
Do the results look natural?
The aim is to improve freshness and proportion, not to change facial features. We always determine the extent of the treatment on an individual basis.
How long do the results of eyelid surgery last?
The effect of blepharoplasty is long-lasting. The natural ageing process continues, but the result of the procedure lasts for many years.
Can upper blepharoplasty have a medical indication?
Yes, when excess upper eyelid skin narrows the field of vision, the procedure has a functional character. During the qualification assessment, we will evaluate whether such an indication applies in your case.
