What is cataract?
How do you recognise it?
A cataract, also known as a cataract, is an opacity of the natural lens of the eye. Because of this, images become blurred, colours lose their intensity and light starts to dazzle. The disease most often develops with age, but can also occur after eye injury, inflammation, high myopia, diabetes or be congenital in nature
Cataracts usually develop gradually. The most common symptoms are:
- hazy, blurred vision
- reduced vision after dark
- nadwrażliwość na światło i olśnienia
- difficulty in reading and judging distances
- fainter, less pronounced colours

What symptoms after surgery should not be ignored?
Severe eye pain, increasing redness, swelling, flashes of light and sudden deterioration of vision.
Do you go home the same day after surgery?
Yes. Cataract surgery is performed on an outpatient basis and the patient goes home the same day.
How long does cataract surgery take?
The procedure itself usually takes about 15-30 minutes. You need to spend several hours in the facility, usually around 2-3 hours.
Can cataracts be cured without surgery?
No. Drops can sometimes slow the development of lesions, but they do not remove cataracts. The only effective treatment is surgery
