Anti-reflect is a thin, transparent coating applied to the surface of eyeglass lenses to reduce light reflections. It increases the amount of light passing through the lens, which improves contrast and visual acuity, especially in difficult lighting conditions, such as when driving at night. Lenses with anti-reflective coating reduce the effect of „lamp glare” and glare from computer monitors, which protects the eyes from fatigue. The coating also enhances aesthetic qualities - the wearer's eyes are more visible and unpleasant reflections do not disturb interlocutors. Modern anti-reflectors can also include hydrophobic, oleophobic and hardening layers, which increase resistance to dirt, scratches and make cleaning easier. Although they increase the cost of purchasing glasses, they are recommended for most prescriptions. They are especially recommended for people working around screens, drivers and children. Their absence can lead to increased eye fatigue and poorer visual comfort.
