Shortly after the surgery, our patients are given special protective covers. These are worn at night for the first week to avoid accidental rubbing of the eye, which could adversely affect the corneal flap cut off during surgery - remember, it needs to adhere well to the eye. The covers are designed so that they do not cause discomfort during sleep.

- Full-spectrum UV protection - this is an essential feature of good sunglasses. Before buying, it is worth making sure that the model you choose has 100% protection against UVA and UVB rays - such a feature is usually labelled UV400.
- Polarisation - polarised glasses have a built-in filter that protects against horizontal radiation, i.e. dazzling light reflected from, for example, snow or water. This feature helps to better protect the eyes from fatigue and excessive strain. The anti-reflector also increases visual comfort and improves colour perception.
- Lens material - plastic lenses are very light, but they deteriorate more quickly when exposed to light and heat. More resistant and better for the eye is optical glass, which also protects the eye better against heat. A third option is polycarbonate glass, which is resistant to mechanical damage - it is not easy to break, but it can be scratched.
- Glass colour - black, or rather grey glasses are the most popular - they work well in all situations and do not distort colours. However, for better contrast, you can choose brown-tinted or mirrored glasses, which also provide good protection against glaring light.
