Dorota Chomińska-Dorn, MD
In 2003 I graduated from the Medical Academy in Gdańsk. Since 2005, I have been employed at the Ophthalmology Clinic of the Medical University of Gdańsk. I completed my specialization in ophthalmology in 2013. I have many years of medical experience. I deepen my knowledge systematically by participating in trainings and courses covering modern treatment techniques used today in ophthalmology.
English – fluent in speech and writing.
I have been working since 2014 as an ophthalmologist. I qualify patients for cataract surgery, IOL implantation and laser vision correction. I perform refractive surgery procedures. I perform diagnostic tests, e.g. OCT, USG, HRT and corneal topography computed tomography. I specialize in YAG and diode laser treatments. I also perform treatments in the field of aesthetic medicine, eyelid surgery and minor ophthalmological procedures.

Medicine – because I always wanted to be a doctor, I was fascinated by medical knowledge and the possibility of helping sick people.
Ophthalmology – because it combines the possibility of working in a clinic in a close relationship with the patient with the possibility of realizing oneself in interventional medicine. In addition, it is a rapidly developing field in which the latest technologies provide newer and newer diagnostic possibilities and enable more and more precise surgical procedures.
If I were not an ophthalmologist, I would be:
If I was a doctor, I’d be a plastic surgeon, if not a doctor, then a lawyer.
In my free time, I like to:
Cooking, trying out interesting recipes of Asian and Italian cuisine, small and big trips, good cinema and an interesting book.
My favorite season/month is:
Spring – the green of the trees is then the most intense.
My favorite dish is:
Shrimp Pad Thai, or rather, Asian cuisine.
My superpower is:
Being disarmingly frank, which is sometimes unacceptable to others.
I want my patients to know that:
I always have time to listen to them, I will patiently answer all their questions, dispel doubts and fears, I expect them to approach their health problems and their treatment as seriously as I do.
