What is the Blikpol team like?
Blikpol is, above all, people. A truism, but so true.
Doctors, nurses, optometrists. Different temperaments, interests. More important, however, is what unites us. And what we have in common is a great desire to help you and a positive attitude to life :)
We really like our job. Perhaps it’s a positive professional deviation :) but our doctors often look through your qualification cards and test results after work in their homes. We return to maps and measurements, we consult, we consider the possibilities of treating more unusual diseases.
We specialize in various aspects of medicine, we try to help you in different ways … but we agree on one thing.
Your satisfaction drives us the most. Natural and spontaneous reactions after laser vision correction procedures , emotions, sometimes a positive shock .
How do we remember our history?
We began accepting ophthalmic patients nearly twenty years ago under the auspices of the late Professor Bilikiewicz-Iwaszkiewicz (who headed the Department of Ophthalmology at the Medical University of Gdańsk from 1980 to 2005). This was in the Sopot-Wyścigi location, not long after moving from Zaspa in Gdańsk.
The removal of the first cataract started in 2007, performed by Dr. Andrzej Król (the first surgery) and shortly after by Dr. Barbara Krupa-Szafran. Since then, we have performed over 6500 cataract surgeries.
We quickly developed diagnostics as well, for instance, we were the first in Pomerania to perform OCT examinations (AMD), secondary cataract laser therapy (posterior capsulotomy) using a YAG laser, and systematically expanded the range of specialized examinations offered.
However, we don’t want to write more about the effects ourselves:
