Eyelash extensions are a cosmetic procedure that many women are keen to use - the 1:1 method is particularly popular, as the false lashes last quite a long time, look natural and can be a convenient alternative to make-up. However, can this solution still be used after laser vision correction?
Artificial eyelashes versus laser vision correction

Jeśli chodzi o sztuczne rzęsy – najlepiej usunąć je już ok. 2 tygodnie przed operacją. Zarówno klej używany do przymocowywania rzęs, jak i remover, czyli preparat do ich usuwania, mogą nieco podrażniać rogówkę. Przystępując do laser vision correction, należy pamiętać, że nasze oczy przed zabiegiem powinny być wypoczęte, dlatego warto dobrze się wyspać i na jakiś czas zrezygnować z makijażu czy innych trików upiększających.
Eyelash extensions after laser vision correction
One of the reasons why LASIK vision correction is so successful is that, immediately after the procedure, we can return to „normality”, i.e. to our daily activities. However, this does not mean that convalescence can be completely disregarded. For the first few days after laser vision correction, we should avoid strenuous exercise, dust or excess sunlight and harsh light.
And what about make-up? It is inadvisable at the beginning, so even people who up to now could not imagine leaving the house without eyeliner and mascara must somehow persevere, comforting themselves with the thought of the results. Besides, our eyes will certainly thank us for this respite. After a few days (a minimum of 7, although it's better to wait up to 2 weeks), you can apply eye shadow and easily washable mascara (not waterproof). However, you need to be extra careful when washing off the make-up and take care not to get make-up remover in the eye. Also remember not to rub your eyes.
Laser vision correction - false eyelashes
As far as eyelash extensions are concerned - when you no longer experience any inconvenience after laser vision correction, you can ask your doctor during your check-up if it is already possible to go to a beautician. We recommend refraining from sticking on false eyelashes for a minimum of 4-6 weeks, so that your eyes can fully recover. Only choose salons with a good reputation and which use the highest quality preparations. Remember that unsuitable glue can not only irritate the eyes, but also damage the cornea.
Henna as an alternative
If you can't imagine leaving the house without highlighting your eyes, you can opt for eyebrow and eyelash henna, but only a few days before the procedure. If it is done at the last minute, there is a risk that henna residue will remain, which will get under the patch during the procedure and, at best, make the surgeon's work more difficult and prolong the time of the procedure. Worse if the dirt cannot be completely rinsed out and remains in the cornea. Therefore, henna can be an alternative if it is done a few days before the procedure and all residual dye is carefully removed from the eyelashes.
After the treatment, as with false eyelashes, henna can usually be performed after about a month, after early consultation with the doctor.
