When did you notice that you had visual problems? Since when did you wear glasses?
The problem with visual acuity appeared as early as grade 8 in primary school. It started with an innocent -0.5 D. Seemingly nothing, but quite a discomfort. The little girl, always running somewhere, had to start wearing glasses. Without them, it was difficult to read from the school blackboard and greet friends across the street. As soon as I put my glasses on, I felt myself becoming a different person. I was too calm, probably just cautious - I was afraid of losing my glasses from my eyes, after all they didn't cost very much. I managed to ask my mum to replace my glasses with contact lenses. I wore my glasses for maybe two months and then only wore them in the evenings to give my eyes a break from the contact lenses I used during the day. Unfortunately, my eyesight defect grew unbearably and by the age of 25, lenses and glasses were no longer suitable. We had to look for another solution. Now I am 31 years old, glasses and lenses have accompanied me since I was 15 years old.... until this wonderful moment - the surgery laser vision correction w Blikpolu.
How did you find out about Blikpol?
A cena? Koniec końców i tak nie był to najważniejszy argument przy wyborze. Efekt jest niewymierny do wydanych pieniędzy! Genialny wybór - nie mogło być innego!!!
How did you feel on the day of the procedure?
On the day of the procedure I felt a terrible headache. I was overwhelmed with stress before the procedure. It all went away when I crossed the threshold of Blikpol. The specialists took care of me all at once. Caring questions were asked: How do you feel? How is the strength?... I was assured of the safety of the procedure. And I don't even know when - it went away like a hand. The professional approach, the friendly atmosphere totally mows down stress and dispels doubts.
How has your visual impairment affected your life?
How did my defect affect my life? She ruled my life! My restless, anxious character versus my visual defect - you can't do this and you won't do that! Horror! The beginning of life with a -0.5 D defect was hard, and increasing it by more diopters was kind of cutting me off from the world. For those who don't have this problem, I explain: the moment I took off my glasses or lenses I was told - sleep, not talk. A film with loved ones before bed? - forget it! Squinting eyes, headaches, fatigue, looking under your feet rather than straight ahead. Nothing pleasant, right? And that's just a drop in a sea of struggles. You don't get to know the people across the street, you don't swim in the pool, you don't go for a run, you don't put on your sunglasses, you don't go crazy with the kids in a "pillow fight"...well, then there's that moment when your man takes you on a romantic getaway and you look up at the night sky - supposedly full of stars.... 🙂 and you, like a "frosty woman" say - sorry, but I can't see anything anyway. Masses of laughter and so much for a romantic outing. And yet seriously, the feeling of restriction has always spoilt my personal plans and even my professional ones!
Who performed the procedure? What impression did the doctor make on you?
The procedure was performed by medical doctor Witold Czuszyński. A specialist without a doubt! He has a very good approach to the patient. He has great medical knowledge and is able to use it and pass it on to the patient. He always answered every question. I did not have any concerns.
How did you feel during the procedure?
As I entered the room ready for the procedure, my attention was drawn to a small, plush dog. I asked: what is this? I expected the answer: from the patient as a thank you. The answer was quite the opposite: you'll see, he's doing his job here too. After a while, I was handed this cuddly toy. You know what I thought: this is going to hurt. And here, my dear friends, I said: this plush can go on the shelf. It didn't hurt. Fact, the feeling was strange, indescribable, but it did not resemble pain. There was a nice and friendly atmosphere during the procedure. It was all about my well-being and the success of the procedure.
What was your first thought when you woke up the day after the procedure when you didn't have to wear glasses or lenses?
I will not forget it! I thought and said: where I don't look, there I see...want or not. I open my eyes and there's the world. I don't have to search in the dark for my glasses, my slippers, my toothbrush.... I get up and act - I'm in charge now, not my eyesight defect.
What was your week after the procedure like, how did you feel, did you have a problem with anything?
Problem? What problem? Of course not! But there was plenty of laughing at myself. I would wake up and think: "Blimey! I forgot to take my lenses off again at night". During the day, I felt an indescribable euphoria. I couldn't enjoy being in touch with the world.
How has your life changed after the procedure?
The term "changed" is too weak a word. My life has undergone a renaissance. I now feel alive. Maybe someone will think I'm exaggerating, but I really feel like a child. I am reacquainted with the world around me. I can see everything very clearly and I am happy. Only someone who has been through a similar story will believe it. You just get back into the game, into life. You see birds, stars, prices on products, people smiling at you, your clean or dirty shoes 😉 .
Would you recommend your friends or family to have this treatment?
Absolutely, of course, emphatically YES!
