Laser vision correction assessment 

Yes. Pregnancy is a temporary contraindication to laser vision correction. Hormonal changes during this period can affect the parameters of the eye, such as corneal thickness and shape, and the stability of your refractive error. We therefore recommend postponing the consultation and procedure until after pregnancy and the breastfeeding period, once your vision has stabilised.

During qualification, we perform a set of detailed examinations to accurately assess the condition of your eyes and safely plan the procedure. These include measurement of the visual defect and curvature of the cornea (autorefractometry), its thickness (pachymetry) and three-dimensional imaging (topography and tomography).

In addition, we perform examinations of the structures of the eye, such as OCT (retinal and optic nerve scans), biometry and fundus examination. We also check intraocular pressure and assess the anterior segment of the eye under a slit lamp.

Based on these results, your doctor determines whether the procedure is appropriate for you and which method is best suited to your individual eye profile.

Eligibility is determined by your assessment results, including corneal thickness and shape, prescription stability, tear film quality and retinal health. Approximate correction ranges are: Myopia up to -13 D, hyperopia up to +6 D, astigmatism up to 5 cyl. The final method and suitability are confirmed by your ophthalmologist after a full diagnostic examination.

In some cases, ineligibility is temporary — for example, if your prescription has not yet stabilised or if an underlying condition requires treatment first.

The qualification is a two-stage process and consists of a series of specialised diagnostic tests to determine whether there are any absolute contraindications to laser correction surgery. The price of the qualification is PLN 400.

Yes — preparation is important for accurate measurements. Please stop wearing contact lenses before your appointment: soft lenses — at least 2 weeks before; toric soft lenses — at least 3 weeks before; rigid lenses — 2 months before; Ortho-K lenses — 3 months before. Come without eye make-up, and bring your glasses or most recent prescription, along with a list of any current medications. The examination takes approximately 90–120 minutes. Please arrange a lift home, as you will not be able to drive for several hours after pupil dilation.
