As a profession, I am a chef. My prescription before the procedure was -20 D in my right eye and -16 D in my left.
I searched for a clinic that would agree to perform laser correction on me for a very long time. I wrote to various places, and everywhere I was refused due to my high prescription.
Blikpol was the last place I wrote to. I received a response very quickly, asking me to come for a qualifying examination.
As I went for the examination, I didn’t have high hopes. However, the very kind Dr. Czuszyński, after the examination, stated that he would undertake the procedure. My joy was indescribable.
I won’t say that I wasn’t afraid, but the prospect of regaining my sight pushed away that fear.
On the day of the procedure, the very friendly staff at Blikpol took care of me. Preparation for the procedure and waiting were excruciatingly long. Fear mixed with joy that it was almost time.
The procedure itself turned out not to be so terrible. Dr. Czuszyński explained everything to me and made me realize that if I cooperate, even the discomfort won’t be so great. So I surrendered, and indeed, it turned out that “fear has big eyes.”
I will always remember my first reaction after the procedure. When the nurse helped me to stand up, Dr. Czuszyński stood opposite me by the door, and my first words… “Oh, Doctor, I can see you.” Dr. Czuszyński smiled and replied that it was supposed to be like that, but in my euphoria, I responded… “But I can see you and see that you’re smiling, and I don’t have glasses or lenses. It’s a miracle!”
Today, just remembering that moment makes me smile because it was right after the procedure, and I felt like I was given a second, better life.
My recovery went at lightning speed. Before the procedure, signing the consent form, I accepted that my right eye’s impairment couldn’t be completely removed. Today, I know that Dr. Czuszyński accomplished the impossible.
Today, my right eye is -1.5, and my left is 0.
I regained more than just sight. I regained my life. I saw a world that hadn’t been so colorful for a long time. I embrace life to the fullest. I explore, travel, work. I live life to the fullest. I fulfill dreams that were previously out of reach. All thanks to BLIKPOL and the people who work there, who make dreams come true. Thank you.
