Corneal cone, on the other hand, occurs when the cornea becomes too thin and deforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Allergies, which contribute to frequent rubbing of pollen-irritated eyes, may be the cause of this condition. It is also assumed that corneal cone may be hereditary. A corneal cone often leads to severe vision problems and impedes daily functioning, but it is not common for patients to lose their sight because of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to characterise the symptoms of corneal cone?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> Symptoms especially at first are not easy to diagnose. Patients wearing corrective spectacles notice a significant deterioration of the visual field over time, and despite changing the power of the correction, the visual disturbance continues to progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So often, before a corneal cone is diagnosed, the ophthalmologist will increase the power of the lenses for some time in order to increase visual acuity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Among the symptoms to look out for are:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Redness.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A \u201eburning\u201d sensation in the eye<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Itchy eyes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Double vision.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is then worth checking for symptoms in each eye. A corneal cone rarely occurs symmetrically in both eyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the other hand, it may happen that when looking with both eyes we see quite well, but when closing one eye we notice a definite deterioration and very strong symptoms indicating poor vision, which may turn out to be a corneal cone disorder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It may also mean that the disease is developing faster in one eye than the other.
