    Anyone, literally any patient can be disqualified from the procedure. It doesn't matter if the defect you have is small, if your eyes are well-groomed and healthy, or if your siblings qualify for the procedure (even twins). Everyone is different and unique, so the doctor's individual approach and thorough analysis of the test results is the key to a safe procedure. The qualifying tests are designed to rule out any contraindications to the procedure, and there is a whole list of them. These range from the parameters of the cornea on which the procedure is performed - its thickness, curvature, diameter or steepness, through eye diseases such as cataracts, glaucoma, retinal degeneration or visual impairment to systemic diseases such as RA or diabetes.
