Astigmatism<\/strong> is a refractive error in which light entering the eye does not focus in one point on the retina<\/strong>. Instead of a single focus, several focal points are created, leading to a blurred and distorted image.<\/p>\n

In practice, this means that the image may be blurred regardless of distance<\/strong>, and straight lines may appear wavy, tilted or stretched in one direction. Astigmatism is therefore not simply about the \"strength\" of vision, but the way the eye forms an image<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
